Route - Part 7 Somotillo, Chinandega, Nicaragua to Peña
Blanca, Rivas, Nicaragua Nicaragua is a bit of an enigma. The run through is only 325 kms, but, towards the end of this leg, we will be traveling adjacent to Lake Nicaragua and the intriguing Ometepe Island. Ometepe is one of the world's largest inland lake based islands and is also home to 2 large volcanoes, Madera and Conceptión (which is still classed as 'active').
